A mindful branding approach, deeply rooted in your identity, values and purpose

Hello creative business owner—

Thank you so much for your interest in working with me.

I put this guide together to give you a better sense of what you can expect from my branding process. Once you’ve had a look, it would be lovely to talk about your project and the future you are envisioning for your brand & business. I’d also be happy to answer any questions or concerns you might have. Book a consultation call, or email me.

In this kit you will find:

+ My branding process

+ My services and the packages you can choose from

+ Some frequently asked questions

Showing up as your unique, beautiful self

I believe that the more you show up as yourself, the more you’ll attract and connect with like-minded people. My branding process delves deep into your true identity, values and purpose to express the essence of who you are and what you want your business to be now and in the future.

Branding based on the seasons for a cohesive look ‘n feel

My approach to branding design is an intuitive, mindful one that uses colour psychology and other tools to create a framework. It will allow you to create a strong, cohesive look ‘n feel across all your platforms with ease, and will make communicating your vision with other creatives like photographers and website designers a whole lot simpler.

Take up space

You’ve got something important to say and valuable work to do in this world, and I’d like to help you take up your space with confidence and clarity. My design process begins with putting together a branding strategy and ends with creating a brand style guide/manual — both designed to help you communicate clearly and beautifully.

“If you’re looking for some help with your branding I can’t recommend Everyday Artefacts enough. Margie is responsible for my new logo and I couldn’t be happier with it. Working with her was a dream.”

My branding process

1. Possibility

This phase is an in-depth discovery of your business and is a lot of fun. It begins with a conversation over the phone — I really value learning as much as I can about your approach to work and your vision for your brand. I’ll also send you an in-depth questionnaire and a link to a shared Pinterest board. Once I’ve done my homework, I’ll put together a brand strategy document and moodboard for your visual identity. Here is an example.

2. Design

Once the brand strategy is approved, I’ll begin work on your one, comprehensive brand identity. I use a one-concept approach. By that I mean that I work on many possible identity options to ‘answer’ the strategy, but only present the strongest one. The presentation will include a main logo, a submark, a favicon and a colour palette — all of which will match my interpretation of your colour psychology profile, audience and positioning.

3. Refine

The first presentation can be seen as a sort of prototype that we will keep tweaking until it’s just right. And once it’s finalised, I’ll start work on the rest of the brand design: the embellishments (or design elements) or pattern design, the collateral items you’ve picked (you receive two collateral items with the standard package and can add on as many as you like), and a font collection.

4. Delivery

The final phase is handing over all the designs to you in the various formats that you might need. I also include a comprehensive brand style guide or manual that you and your team of collaborators can refer to to keep your brand consistent on your website, social media, in print and even when hosting events or gatherings. Put your feet up, and enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine — you’ve done it!

Jamie Sabot

“Working with Margie was an absolute delight. She was a master at picking out what was important and crafting that into a message that was clear, concise and without confusion. Since finishing up our rebrand work with Margie, our photographer and web designer have sung her praise as the brand style guide she put together has made communicating my vision so much easier.

I would highly recommend Margie to anyone who’s looking for an understanding, thorough, thoughtful, patient, and skilled designer.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you work with?

Fellow small business owners and creatives. Mainly women - though not exclusively - who are shattering the glass ceiling by being utterly yourself and doing what you love, not what you think you 'should' do. Your work has impact and integrity. You care about making a difference. You’ve adopted a hustle-free, slow and seasonal approach to work and life.

(If this doesn’t sound quite like you, please do get in touch anyway and let’s see if we’re a good fit.)

How long does the process take?

Usually, four to six weeks. When we start to work together, I’ll send you a detailed timeline noting the smaller steps and dates by which to give feedback.

How does payment work?

I’d be thrilled if you decide to work with me. At this stage you'll need to pay a 30% deposit to secure your design slot in my schedule. 35% is due half way through the project, and the final 35% is due when the project is complete but before the final files are handed over.

How soon can I work with you?

I work on one project at a time, so the wait is usually about a month. During this time you’re welcome to start work on the questionnaire — it’s lovely to have some time to mull it over.

If you’d like to see if we’re a good fit, I’d be so happy to hear from you:
